Singleton given two-game ban

Singleton ban

Leeds Rhinos prop Brad Singleton has picked up a two match suspension for the high tackle on Sam Kasiano that saw him red carded in Friday’s win over Catalans.

The 26-year-old will now miss the Rhinos’ visit of St Helens on Thursday as well as the crucial trip to London Broncos two weeks after.

“It’s a grade B charge, two games,” said Leeds interim-head coach Richard Agar. “We won’t challenge it.

Leeds coach Richard Agar will be forced into changes for Thursday’s clash with St Helens.

“He has got some form, he got a suspension against Castleford the other week.

“He [Kasiano] is six-foot six and he hit him on the chin so he will have to wear it and it gives an opportunity to some guys who have probably been unlucky to find themselves on the sidelines.”

The players Agar refers to are likely to be props Nathaniel Peteru and Mikolaj Oledzki. Both have found themselves out of the squad recently but could return to the side this week.

Stevie Ward banned

Stevie Ward is likely to make his comeback this Thursday.

Another player who will be back in contention is Stevie Ward, who hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury against Saints in February. He was, however, 18th man against the Dragons on Friday.

Agar added: “He (Ward) had a chance, but it is important to stress we will take the utmost care with the decision.

“He has had three runs with the team and we need to see how he pulls up.”
