Salford Red Devils given damning Brodie Croft blow

Salford Red Devils have been given a damning blow on halfback Brodie Croft.

The diminutive Australian had been taken off the field with a head knock just minutes before the end of the half, but now it has been revealed that Croft will not return for the second-half after failing his head test.

It would also mean that Croft would be unavailable for the semi-final next week if Salford win today.

It’s a cruel blow for Paul Rowley’s men who had raced into a 16-0 lead courtesy of tries from Joe Burgess and Kallum Watkins and four Marc Sneyd goals.

Salford did what they have done to other teams throughout the year in the first 20 minutes – absolutely steamroller their opponents.

With the speed of Croft and Ryan Brierley as well as the tactical genius Sneyd, the Red Devils have been tremendous in 2022, but losing their most important player clearly hindered them following his injury.
