Ex-SL referee in legal case

Former Super League and NRL referee Tim Roby is currently in a legal case against his former officiating boss in the NRL, Bernard Sutton. The Sydney Morning Herald revealed Roby’s case was initially dismissed. Read more on the law case and why it’s been taken so far here.

Ex-rugby union player in Super League move

The Leicester Tigers have confirmed that Matt Parr will be joining Catalans Dragons in a coaching role, the club website revealed. The Tigers are the club which Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield joined as defence coach. Read more on Parr’s destination here.

Powell on recruitment

The Warrington Guardian has revealed that new head coach Daryl Powell is happy with his side’s squad and will not be heading into the transfer market again.

Wigan Today has revealed that Wigan Athletic have been responsible for helping coax World Cup organisers into games at the Warriors’ DW Stadium.

Cas duo’s future

Serious About Rugby League has reported on Danny Walker’s future. The wily hooker has been at Warrington since 2019 after joining from Widnes Vikings.

Catalans major signing

Catalans Dragons are set to make a major signing ahead of the 2022 Super League season. Sky Sports last week reported on the club signing Dylan Napa, but another is expected to follow. Read more on the new signing here.

Cas, Featherstone and Wakefield statements

Serious About Rugby League has reported on the statements made by Castleford, Featherstone and Wakefield in the wake of the council decision, granting each club millions of pounds.

Bulls spending plan and finances

Serious About Rugby League has reported on Oliver Gildart and Luke Thompson meeting and fuelling the fire of a potential move. It was first announced by Channel 9 that Gildart and Thompson had spoken ahead of the former’s move to Wigan.

Saints legend to return

St Helens legend Keiron Pickavance will be returning to play in Tommy Makinson’s testimonial game, despite being the ripe old age of 66, the St Helens Star has reported. Pickavance played for St Helens between 1976 and 1980.

Depression and suicidal thoughts

A former Super League and Salford Red Devils winger has opened up on his depression, alcohol problem and suicidal thoughts in a tell-all interview. He is also now a pro-wrestler, the Daily Telegraph has revealed. Read more on his story here.

Burgess in fight

Sam Burgess could be set to take on former Cronulla Sharks heavyweight boxer Paul Gallen in a fight in February.
