Today is Wembley Stadium’s 100th birthday.
The country’s national stadium, it has been the spiritual home for the oldest and most prestigious competition in rugby league the Challenge Cup which is 126 years old this year.
In fact it is a big year for rugby league and Wembley.
After a brief detour to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last year, the Challenge Cup Final returns to Wembley.
But it isn’t just the men’s final this year. For the first time the women’s final will take place at the stadium in what will be a triple header alongside the 1895 Cup Final.
An amazing triple header for rugby league, it is a brilliant year for the sport and its return to Wembley.

Disgraceful. Not even an acknowledgement that you have shamefully ignored our great sport on the original graphic. We may not be relevant to you but we will.not forget.

Either way Wembley has played a key role in the history of the Challenge Cup and rugby league in general especially this year with the tripleheader this year.
Hopefully the next 100 years of rugby league at Wembley is even more memorable.
