Rugby league agent addresses the money being offered to Wigan Warriors star Bevan French

The future of Bevan French continues to be talked about as a new story appears to emanate each day.

Wigan Warriors were said to have given French ‘an exceptional offer’ earlier in the week, whilst the Newcastle Knights continue to be linked with a move – with one journalist, Barry Toohey from the Newcastle Herald reporting that a deal had already been done.

Of course, in and amongst that speculation has been a huge offer from the Leigh Centurions to lure French to the Leigh Sports Village in what would be the biggest signing in their history.

However, with the Centurions still not a Super League side – although it looks pretty certain that they will be come the end of the season – leading player agent Craig Harrison of Show Me The Money UK believes that the money on offer from Leigh must be gargantuan.

“Let’s take Bevan French as an example. If I’ve got Wigan offering a three-year deal and an NRL club offering and then I’ve got Leigh making an offer and they are still not up technically,” Harrison said on The Full Eighty Minutes podcast.

“As an agent you would cover all bases – as much as we think Leigh are 50/1 to win that (Million Pound) game.

“It would have to be some serious brass from Leigh to convince him to move away from Wigan.”

Leigh owner Derek Beaumont has not been afraid to splash the cash in recent months and years, but he is putting in more money than ever before in 2022 as he aims to guide the club back into Super League at the first time of asking.

Among those incredible signings have been the likes of Blake Ferguson, Lachlan Lam and Edwin Ipape whilst British recruits such as Josh Charnley, Keanan Brand and Ed Chamberlain have more than proved their worth.
