The 2021 season sees more head coach changes in what is set to be a very interesting season in Super League.
There will be three new head coaches who have never coached in the top-flight before.
We look at the 12 head coaches and their winning percentage in the league.
12. Brett Hodgson – Hull FC 0%
This will be Hodgson’s first step into a top-level head coaching role after only being at the helm of academy and reserve teams.
11. Richard Marshall – Salford Red Devils 0%
Having been assistant coach for the last two seasons at St Helens, Marshall will bring a winning mentality to Salford. He will be helped by the fact that he has experience as a head coach in the Championship with Halifax.
10. John Duffy – Leigh Centurions 0%
Not having coached in the Super league before, we will see how Duffy copes in his first year, but he has done well in the Championship over the last few seasons with Leigh.
9. Chris Chester – Wakefield Trinity

In what has been a steady spell for Chester at Wakefield, he will look to replicate the team’s Super 8s form when Trinity finished in the play-offs from 2016 to 2018 rather than the last couple of seasons where they have struggled. Also had experience as head coach at Hull KR.
8. Richard Agar – Leeds Rhinos

Agar will look to bring Leeds back to the big time after reaching the Elimination Play-off in 2020. Also was head coach of Wakefield and Hull FC.

4. Steve Price – Warrington Wolves

80 47 32 1 58.8%
The Australian has been hit-and-miss since coming to the Wire, but Price has steered his side to a Grand Final – though they lost.
3. Tony Smith – Hull KR
Played Won Lost Draw Win %
443 273 160 10 61.6%
Smith boasts a very long career which has seen him coach over 400 games for four different sides. Though he’s won the title twice, that’s unlikely to be replicated with KR. Aside from the Robins, Smith has also coached at Leeds, Warrington and Huddersfield.
2. Adrian Lam – Wigan Warriors
Played Won Lost Draw Win %
51 33 18 0 61.8%
After a tough start in 2019 when he lost seven of his first 10 games, Adrian Lam turned it around. He guided his Wigan side to consecutive second place finishes and reached the Grand Final in 2021.
