More pressure the better for Sneyd

Ahead of his side’s date with Wigan Warriors at Wembley, half-back Marc Sneyd has said he enjoys the pressure of big occasions.

Sneyd, the Lance Todd Trophy winner from last year’s final against Warrington Wolves, will be hoping to lead the East Yorkshire club to a second successive cup triumph.

The 26-year-old has been talking to the press in the lead-up to this weekend’s showpiece event, which will draw a big crowd in the stadium and mainstream TV attention via the BBC.

“I genuinely enjoy the pressure,” he told rugby-league.com.

“The more pressure that gets put on me, the best it brings out of me.

“In big games your half-backs need to control the ball and the speed of the game as much as possible.

“It’s something I’m looking forward to trying to do on Saturday.”
