New Zealand Warriors eyeing early Murdoch-Masila move

New Zealand Warriors have set their sights on an early move for Warrington star Ben Murdoch-Masila in a bid to overcome their current injury crisis.

The Warriors will field a depleted side when the NRL season resumes next week, after Leeson Ah Mau, Jazz Tevaga, Jackson Frei, Adam Keighran and Bunty Afoa all sustained injuries.

The ex-Salford forward has already signed a three-year contract with the Warriors from 2021 but according to The Sydney Morning Herald, the club have expressed an interest in bringing the forward to the club earlier on a loan deal whilst Super League remains suspended, and the 29-year-old has revealed that he would be open to the idea.

“I’m still contracted to Warrington at the moment, but if they are willing to put me out on loan or something like that, it could be good for the club and myself,” Murdoch-Masila told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“It will keep me fit so that when they need me and the Super League first starts back up, I’m ready and raring to go and they could have me back.”
