“Leigh add a lot to Super League” – Sky Sports pundits call for clubs to emulate Leigh

Last night we saw a terrific game between Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors in the Battle of the Borough.

Wigan eventually stormed to a 34-6 win but initially it was a real battle in front of a lively crowd brought to life by the live performance of the Lottery Winners as Derek Beaumont continues to impress by turning every game into an event.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Brian Carney called for more clubs to try and generate this kind of atmosphere:

“If we can get atmospheres like this and around Super League, the sport is going to be in a very good place going forward into the future.”

Meanwhile, former Leigh boss and Salford Red Devils coach Paul Rowley who appeared on Sky as a guest exclaimed that the Leopards bring a lot to Super League:

“I would concur. Two sets of great fans were outstanding, this stadium is outstanding and Leigh add a lot to Super League.

“I will say that again, Leigh add a lot to Super League.”

Next week Leigh take on Rowley’s Salford as part of rivals round which will be a brilliant showcase of the quality in Super League and the intensity of the top rivalries with every game shown across the Easter weekend including classic derbies between Wigan and St Helens and of course the battle between Hull FC and Hull KR.
