Latest on Sims’ alleged move to Super League

A few weeks ago, St George Illawarra forward Tariq Sims was linked with a move to Super League.

But, Sims – who is 31 – still has a contract for the Dragons in 2022 and club officials are keen to see Sims play out the last year of it.

It seems more likely that Sims – brother of former Super League forward Ashton and current Hull KR star Korbin – will move on in 2023 when his contract actually ends.

Sources close to St George Illawarra suggest Sims was never told he wasn’t wanted for next year, but that the Dragons were willing to release him early if there was an offer.

Souths Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers are said to be interested, but could any Super League side be willing to take a punt on the Blues forward?
