Keighley sign former Super League Grand Finalist

Keighley Cougars have completed the surprise signing of Jake Webster from Bradford Bulls.

The ex-Kiwis star played in the Super League Grand Final for Castleford just two years ago and is the highest profile signing at Cougar Park for some time.

He follows James Green and a number of other key players out of the Bulls after chairman Andrew Chalmers announced he is stepping down from the club.

Webster has been a regular in John Kear’s team this season and did have another year to run on his contract at Bradford.

However, the 35-year-old will depart early and move across West Yorkshire to the League One Cougars for 2020.

Keighley, whose future was in doubt prior to this season, will likely be Webster’s final club after a glittering career that has included spells at Melbourne Storm, Gold Coast Titans and Hull KR.
