Hull FC ran out 14-8 winners against Catalans Dragons last night in what was a gritty, if largely uneventful, Super League fixture.
The game was broadcast live on Sky Sports which allowed pundit and analyst Jon Wells to ask questions to two Hull FC players after the game.
One of those was Man of the Match Danny Houghton and the other was maverick fullback Jake Connor.
Connor praised Catalans for the way in which they have played over Easter with all the travel in such a tough fixture.
“It’s been a tough Easter period but what a game to finish it off with,” Connor said after the game on Sky Sports.
“It was the third game in a row on a short turnaround – that’s unreal and credit to both teams out there.
“I want to give credit to Catalans travelling here and there and they gave us a great game tonight.”
Connor also identified Hull’s biggest problem during seasons in recent years, outlining a pattern.
“We don’t always make great starts to our seasons, but there’s a period in the middle of the season where we get better and hopefully that will be where we go now.”
Hull take on Toulouse Olympique next weekend, sitting pretty in fourth in the Super League table.
