Hull FC signing now the favourite for Man of Steel alongside Leigh Leopards man

Super League is back for this week with just four days to go until the first game of the new season which takes place on Thursday live on Sky Sports.

The Halliwell Jones Stadium will play host to Warrington Wolves taking on last year’s Grand Finalists Leeds Rhinos as both sides look to start the season as they mean to go on.

With the big kick off days away, big predictions will naturally begin to come through but what are the bookmakers saying about the new season?

Well they have had their say on the Man of Steel award Edwin Ipape is still one of the favourites as the Leigh Leopards star and Championship Player of the Year in 2022 is 8/1.

He has been joined by Jake Clifford as the joint favourites with the new Hull FC signing also 8/1.

George Williams is just behind at 12/1 as the Warrington Wolves star is expected to get back to his best in 2023.

Wigan Warriors duo Jai Field and Bevan French are 16/1 alongside Jack Welsby and Jonny Lomax of St Helens and Matt Dufty of Warrington Wolves.

Leeds Rhinos’ Aidan Sezer is 20/1 whilst reigning Man of Steel Brodie Croft of Salford Red Devils is 20/1.

Turning to the top try scorer award, Bevan French is favourite at 4/1 with Ash Handley of Leeds is at 10/1 as is Tommy Makinson.

After his move from Wakefield Trinity to Catalans Dragons, Tom Johnstone is 12/1 with Castleford Tigers’ Greg Eden 16/1 to pick up the award he claimed in 2017.

Young St Helens star Jon Bennison is 20/1 in his first full season in their first team.
