Hull FC fume as Wakefield Trinity score controversial try

If things weren’t bad enough for Hull FC already against Wakefield Trinity going down 12-6, then things got even worse six minutes from half-time.

A massive Jacob Miller kick was chased hard by Lee Gaskell with the ball hitting the latter’s head.

Gaskell appeared to clean out Hull fullback Will Smith, but video referee Jack Smith believed it was a fair contest and ran the video through to the grounding.

Lewis Murphy expertly dotted down as Smith awarded the try from upstairs – much to the chagrin of the hardy Hull fans at the MKM Stadium.

Trinity almost scored another controversial try moments later, but that was chalked off due to a Mason Lino knock on in goal, but the Black and Whites put in a dismal showing in the first-half.
