Hull FC and Hull KR announce groundbreaking deal

A Hull KR has possession of the ball and Hull FC battle to tackle him.

Hull FC have confirmed that Hull Trains will become the club’s Official Digital Partner for the 2022 Super League season.

The railway operator, one of the region’s most well-known companies,  will become one of the club’s major partners throughout the campaign having secured a significant deal with the Black & Whites, which includes a major presence amongst the club’s multimedia output.

The company will become a familiar name to supporters on home match days at the MKM Stadium, with a visual presence on the club’s big screen as well as in their match day programmes.

Speaking about the new partnership, Hull Trains Managing Director, David Gibson, said: “We know how much Rugby League means to this city and to so many of our passengers – our trains are used often by supporters travelling down to London for the Challenge Cup Final.

“It therefore makes perfect sense to partner with Hull FC as part of our commitment to supporting the Hull sporting community and ensuring our brand is visible to a wider audience. The partnerships promise to bring many benefits to all involved.”

Hull Trains ran their first ever service to London King’s Cross in September 2000, before reaching the significant milestone of one million passengers carried by 2005.

Going from strength to strength over the course of the last two decades, in 2017, Hull Trains was named the Best UK Train Operator by the National Rail Passenger Survey after scoring a huge 97% satisfaction for service, before a huge £60 million investment in 2019 saw the introduction of the state-of-the-art Paragon Fleet, making journeys to the capital smoother, quieter and greener.

Hull FC Chief Executive, James Clark, added: “We are delighted to add Hull Trains to our family of commercial partners for 2022 – one of the regions most widely recognised and respected brands.

“Our digital partnership offers opportunities far and wide, including brand exposure across our far-reaching social media channels, Hull FC Live, and on match days at the MKM Stadium.

“In what has been a challenging period for the transport industry over the past two years, Hull Trains’ commitment to supporting one of their local clubs is outstanding,  and we’re excited to see how the relationship can develop over the next twelve months.”

Hull KR have also announced the same deal as the city of Hull increases its transport links.

As part of the matchday experience with Hull KR, supporters will be encouraged to take part in a ‘race the train’ competition at half time to win prizes.

Paul Lakin, Hull KR Chief Executive is pleased to have Hull Trains on board for the new season. He said: “It’s fantastic to see Hull Trains join us for the new season so we can help them achieve their goals for 2022 across our digital and in-stadia platforms. Hull Trains has only recently celebrated its 21st birthday and 2022 is the 140th anniversary of our club, so this is a landmark achievement for both of us. We look forward to working together in what we hope will be a successful season.”
