Huddersfield Giants man and fellow Super League star set to play against England in Rugby League World Cup

England’s first game of the World Cup comes against Samoa at St James’ Park.

Normally, this would be a fixture that England would be regarded as overwhelming favourites to win but the growth of teams like Tonga and other pacific nations has fans worried especially as a number of top tier players have announced their intention to play for Samoa at the World Cup.

Those doubts will have only intensified at seeing Samoa’s official World Cup squad today which includes two Super League stars.

Danny Levi of the Huddersfield Giants is named after an amazing season at the John Smith’s Stadium in which he has been one of the best number nines around.

It was feared that his chances of playing in the tournament would be over when he was helped off against Salford in the play-offs however he seems to have come through.

He will be joined by Catalans’ Tyrone May who joined the club from Penrith this year and has shown glimpses of his quality all season.

Alongside May is a few Penrith Panthers stars who are readying themselves for a Grand Final against Parramatta this weekend.

These include May’s namesake Taylan and star five-eighth Jarome Luai.

Meanwhile young Sydney star Joseph Suaali’i is also named.

Castleford boss Lee Radford has been named amongst the coaching staff.
