Josh Jones hasn’t played for Huddersfield Giants since their 22-12 away loss to Wigan Warriors back in February.
However, the former St Helens and Hull FC back-rower is now in line to make a long-awaited return against Catalans Dragons tomorrow night.
For Huddersfield boss Ian Watson, there has been a thorough examination of Jones to ensure that is possible.
“He’s seen all the specialists – we’ve had about five specialists to see him and they have given the conclusion that he is fit,” Watson said.
“They have done a lot of investigations into him and had a good look – they’ve had a look at his brain and eyes, the one big positive is Josh is feeling really good.
“He’s having no ill effects – the doctors have said he is all good to go.”
Not only will Jones return, but Theo Fages and Jack Cogger are back in contention.
“Theo is a little bit behind Jack at this moment in time as we are just trying to tick a few boxes with Theo.
“He declared himself fit and available and we would like him to have a bit of a run before the game against Hull.
“Jack hasn’t played for a while and he’s been chomping at the bit – he was training really hard in pre-season before the injury.
Watson also gave an update on Tui Lolohea after he was ruled out of last week’s win over Barrow Raiders.
“Tui is good, there are no dramas there.
“If it had been a cup final he will have been bouncing around a bit more, but he’s all good.”
