Former Leeds Rhinos hooker agrees deal with Championship club

Former Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards hooker Liam Hood has agreed a new deal to stay at Wakefield Trinity.

Bradford born Hood has had an illustrious career, playing as a hooker for several top clubs including Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils, and Leigh Centurions. Integral to the  first team, he will continue to strengthen the Trinity squad with his formidable skills and experience.

Head Coach Daryl Powell shared his excitement on the new signing: ‘Liam is one of those players who binds a group together. He has great leadership skills, is skilful and is a tough and uncompromising defender. I’m delighted he has agreed to extend his time at the club and be one of the foundation players in this next exciting era at Wakefield Trinity. I look forward to working with him in the coming years to see just how good he can become.’

This announcement comes swiftly after the announced takeover of the club by Matt Ellis who alongside Daryl Powell and the team is ushering in a series of exciting new developments for the club.
