Dr Marwan Koukash not only blew the door offs upon his arrival in rugby league in 2013, he kicked them into the stratosphere.
With a ‘Red Devil Devilution’ taking hold, the 63-year-old brought in the likes of Rangi Chase, Gareth Hock and Harrison Hansen as well as 11 other stars in a bid to take Super League by storm.
Though that eventually failed, Koukash did bring Salford back to a stable economic footing and subsequently wrote his debt off to the club.
But, he is still a big fan of the club and gave his predictions for Friday night’s fixture against Hull KR – and it was a simple one: “We will win on Friday.”

And, even more recently, the outspoken Palestinian has been conversing with Leigh Centurions owner Derek Beaumont on Twitter.
Koukash asked Beaumont: “Good luck mate and when are you inviting me to see your boys @LeighCenturions? I will bring my own🍷if needed.”
The Leigh owner responded: “Get down now mate your welcome anytime and bring an extra bottle for me we will have to improve the cellar once your here week in week out.”

Koukash hasn’t been involved in the sport since 2017 – when he handed over control of Salford to a community trust, four years after stepping in to save the club.
But, in a previous interview, the Palestine-born millionaire could team up with Leigh owner Derek Beaumont.
The pair were friends during Koukash’s time in the sport and even held a charity weight-loss challenge in 2017 – though there was no clear winner.
“I miss the involvement in rugby league,” Koukash told BBC Radio Manchester back in August of 2021.
“It’s in my blood, I’m hooked on it and I would love to get involved again. I know for sure I will never get involved with Salford for various reasons.
“But I have a special love for Leigh and maybe one day I might be joining Derek [Beaumont].”
