Disciplinary Roundup: Saints to be without star fullback

St Helens fullback Lachlan Coote will miss his side’s final regular season match against Salford Red Devils after picking up a one-match penalty notice.

Coote was charged with Dangerous Contact at Grade B, after being found to have slid in with his knees into a tackle in the 36th minute of Saints’ 40-6 win over Leeds Rhinos on Friday night.

The panel classed this as “Other Contrary Behaviour” and charged him with the offence.

The only other action taken was a caution to Catalans Dragons forward Matt Whitley for Dangerous Contact.

Whitley was adjudged to have “led with the knee/foot” in the 65th minute of the Dragons’ 30-18 defeat against Huddersfield Giants on Saturday evening.

No other charges were brought on by the RFL, with sin binnings for Salford’s Danny Addy, Huddersfield’s Chris McQueen and Leigh Centurions pair Rob Butler and Ryan Brierley all deemed to be sin bin sufficient.
