Leigh Centurions are building for Super League – there is absolutely no doubt about that.
Owner Derek Beaumont has been bankrolling the Lancashire club for a number of years now, but it finally seems as though he has got the right set-up in place to not only achieve promotion to the top flight, but to stay there.
Over the years, Leigh have earned two promotions to Super League, but have come back down instantly the year after for one reason or another. Now, Beaumont is determined to stop that from happening.
The likes of Blake Ferguson, Edwin Ipape and John Asiata have all been snapped up by Leigh, and, with head coach Adrian Lam and head of rugby Chris Chester at the helm, the club is certainly building in the right direction.
For Beaumont, though, getting to Super League is one thing, but he wants more after that.
Things do look rosy for Leigh supporters moving forward with another big win over nearest Championship rivals Featherstone Rovers at the Summer Bash over the weekend underlining the increasing gulf between the two sides as the end of the season closes in.
