With the news that Richard Agar has stood down as Leeds Rhinos boss this morning, bookies have already been working out the odds for the next head coach.
And, it may come as some surprise that former Rhinos prop Danny Ward – who only recently picked up a new job in rugby union – is out in front as the bookies’ favourite at 2/1.
Former Featherstone Rovers boss Ryan Carr is priced at 7/2 with, surprisingly, Michael Monaghan – who plied his trade with Warrington Wolves in Super League – next at 9/2.
There is even space for Catalans Dragons head coach Steve McNamara at 7/1 and Ian Watson at 8/1.

After over three years in the job, Agar will be stepping down with Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Sean Long stepping into the role on an interim basis.
It must be remembered that Agar came in when the Rhinos were staring down the barrel of relegation, with the former Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity boss steadying the ship and helping Leeds to a Challenge Cup Final win in 2020 and 80 minutes within a Grand Final in 2021.
But, will the next boss at Headingley be any from this list?
