“Club’s a mess” – Geordie Shore star goes on crazy rant about Hull FC

Hull FC head coach Tony Smith

Hull FC have had a tough start to the 2024 Super League season.

They had to stomach defeat to Hull KR in the opening round of the season and a week later they went toe to toe with Warrington Wolves until Fa’amanu Brown was sent off in a decision which the RFL would later confirm to be incorrect doing little to amend the damage done to Hull FC in the game.

The Black and Whites went on to edge London Broncos in Round Three which did little to please their fans but they were valiant in defeat to Catalans Dragons.

That character seemed to be lacking against Leigh Leopards as they were blown away by Adrian Lam’s men.

They were 10-0 down after 10 minutes after tries from Umyla Hanley and Josh Charnley. They did hit back with a try from Tex Hoy but by the break they were 30-4 behind.

The Leopards got things going with a barnstorming try from Ricky Leutele before Hull FC conceded a soft try from Rob Mulhern.

Leigh scored again via Ben McNamara and in the second half the roll would continue. Leigh backrower Oliver Holmes backed a quick fire double thanks to some lovely offloads before a brilliant break from Ricky Leutele led to a try for Matt Moylan and then Leutele went on to score again to wrap up a 54-4 win.

This result raised questions among Hull FC fans as they again conceded a big scoreline which seems to happen repeatedly season on season.

Surprisingly, these criticisms also came from a Geordie Shore star and a TV presenter in the shape of Scotty T (Scotty Timlin).

He took to X to brand Tony Smith “a dinosaur” and taking aim at owner Adam Pearson.

He said: “Two hookers playing in the halves Injury prone players kept on sentiment. Throwing big money at NRL players past their sell by date rather then focusing on youth.

“A dinosaur for a coach, owners got his mate in on recruitment who has the same scouting ability as Stevie wonder.

“Club’s a mess, feel for the fans – paying their hard earned money to watch that. Lured into their season tickets under false pretences.

“Lightyears behind Rovers now, it’s not even close.”
