Catalans Dragons continue their forward pack rebuild with major deal

Catalans Dragons have again responded to news that two of their prop forwards will be leaving for pastures new next year with the announcement of a big coup.

Jordan Dezaria, who has excelled in a Dragons shirt in 2022, has signed a two-year contract with the club.

The France International prop has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will secure his future at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2024 season.

Dezaria, 25, originally joined the club Academy in 2015. He made his Super League debut in 2016 and made 4 appearances in 2017 before leaving the club to play with Leigh and then Toulouse. He came back to the club in 2020, signing for the club’s reserve team, before joining the Dragons last season.

He has made 24 Dragons appearances.

Dezaria was over the moon to sign: “I’m really happy to sign a new contract and to stay at the club.

“I feel really good here and it was an easy decision. I’m really proud and grateful to wear the Dragons jersey and I would like to thank Bernard Guasch and Steve McNamara for their trust.

“I want to keep improving and win trophies and I feel it’s the right place to achieve it.”

Head coach Steve McNamara can’t wait to see more improvement in the Frenchman: “We are very happy with Jordan’s progression and form and delighted he has agreed a new deal. His desire to continually improve is evident to all.

“He will play an important part in our progression as a team over the coming years.”
