Team News

Castleford Head Coach Lee Radford has selected a 22-man squad to take on Huddersfield Giants in the Tigers’ final pre-season run out of 2023.

Radford’s pack come into the contest against fellow Super League opposition on the back of a comfortable victory at Championship side Whitehaven last weekend and Cas will be aiming to build momentum in time for the start of the Super League season on home turf.

A number of First Team regulars were handed their first hit out of pre-season at the LEL Arena and Tigers fans will be excited to see more stars added to the squad list this time around.

Niall Evalds, Paul McShane, and Joe Westerman are all in line to make their first friendly appearances. Arguably Cas’ standout signing of 2023 Gareth Widdop could potentially run out at The Jungle for the first time as a Castleford player.

Fellow half-back Jacob Miller was scheduled to make his maiden Castleford appearance this weekend, however, after picking up a slight knock in training he has been withdrawn from the squad as a precaution.

Ian Watson takes a blend of youth and experience to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Sunday, with veteran winger Jermaine McGillvary included for the first time since his injury vs St Helens in 2022.

Tui Lolohea is also included after returning from his extended break after the 2021 World Cup.

New Signings Sam Halsall and Jake Bibby are included once again, after being named to face Bradford with the game falling to the conditions.
