Bradford Bulls give incredible tribute to Rob Burrow

Forget rivalries, forget the bitter hatred that transcended many Super League years, Bradford Bulls and the Leeds Rhinos came together yesterday in a brilliant show for the mighty Rob Burrow.

He may well have tormented the Bulls throughout his Super League time at Leeds, but Burrow’s superb legacy has been remembered by all who saw him play.

And, in a tremendous show of solidarity, Odsal was adorned with a banner which said “We’re all with you Rob rivalry aside.”

It may well just be seven words, but they will mean a lot for Burrow and his family with it now being over two years since Rob as diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease back in late 2019.

Burrow’s battle against Motor Neurone Disease and his subsequent fight to raise as much money as possible has largely fallen on the shoulders of long-term friend Kevin Sinfield who not only completed seven marathons in seven days but ran 101 miles in just 24 hours, raising over £4 million in total.

However, there have been a number of other people who have tried to help the MND cause, with the likes of Martyn Clarke, who successfully completed seven half-Ironman challenges in seven days.

An Ironman challenge consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile run, raced in that order.

Of course, Clarke did half of that which consisted of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile cycle and 13.1-mile run.

Clarke did that a remarkable seven times, consecutively, to raise money for Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
