Brad Dwyer set to leave Leeds Rhinos ahead of potential Super League move

Brad Dwyer will not be a Leeds Rhinos player any longer, according to head coach Rohan Smith.

Smith confirmed that no contract offer had been tabled for the hooker with Dwyer set for a potential move to a Super League rival.

St Helens had thought to have been interested in the wily hooker earlier in the season, but Kristian Woolf is said to be waiting on James Roby committing himself to another deal at the Totally Wicked Stadium, whilst Salford Red Devils have been linked with a move.

However,  he will no longer be a Leeds player.

“We haven’t made an offer to Brad,” Smith confirmed. “I’m not sure what he’s doing either, but he’s free to do what he wants to do because his contract is expiring.”

Dwyer, however, is set to play a key role for Leeds from now until the end of the season with captain Kruise Leeming set for a six to 12 week spell on the sideline.

That being said, Liam Sutcliffe and Zak Hardaker will return for Smith’s men ahead of Thursday night’s clash with the Wigan Warriors at Headingley.

Leeds go into this fixture on the back of a disappointing 20-6 loss to Toulouse Olympique in the blazing heat in the south of France.

Wigan, meanwhile, could not be more confident following a 60-0 hammering of Hull FC last Friday night.
