Castleford winger Greg Eden is facing a trial over an alleged attack on a female.
Records show that Eden appeared at Leeds Crown Court last month and denied a charge of assaulting a female, occasioning actual bodily harm.
The alleged incident is believed to have happened in May with the Pontefract and Castleford Express reporting that a trial date has been set for 22 April 2020.
Eden has endured a difficult season on the pitch and was recently dropped from the Tigers’ starting line-up by head coach Daryl Powell.
The club released a brief statement yesterday saying that they are aware of the incident.
It states: “Castleford Tigers are aware of the report of an incident involving Greg Eden.
“The club will not be making any further comment regarding this matter at this time.”
