Widnes duo could be out for season

Widnes Vikings 26-6 Catalans Dragons

Widnes Vikings could be without two of their key players for the remainder of the Qualifiers.

Rhys Hanbury and Danny Craven were both injured in Saturday’s game against Leigh Centurions, and coach Denis Betts has said that the news isn’t good for the Vikings.

As things stand currently, Widnes are third in the Qualifiers and that would be enough to see them retain their Super League status automatically and not via the Million Pound Game.

However, the last few games of the Super 8s have become even more challenging after today’s news which was confirmed by Betts in his usual midweek press conference.

Hanbury sustained an abductor injury while Craven went off the field with a knee injury.
