Willie Poching makes Josh Bowden decision as Wakefield Trinity hit with major blow

It’s been a busy week at Belle Vue.

Trinity have made two signings to add to the arrival of Kyle Evans with fellow winger Jorge Taufua joining following a release from Manly with immediate effect as well as the arrival of Josh Bowden from Hull FC.

The prop joined Trinity immediately on a deal that keeps him in West Yorkshire until the end of 2023. He was even included in Wakefield’s squad for the game against Toulouse as the West Yorkshire side look for a win to open up a six point gap between themselves and Toulouse at the bottom of the table.

However, coach Willie Poching had not included his latest addition with a debut now expected next week instead. It’s likely that his late arrival is the reason behind him not featuring today.

The likes of Rob Butler and David Fifita instead feature on the bench.

Wakefield have also suffered a major blow with mason Lino absent due to an injury picked up in the captain’s run yesterday. With no Lee Gaskell in the squad Brad Walker comes into the halves.

Toulouse have named a strong team with Matty Russell back in the side and Corey Norman and Tony Gigot still in the halves.

Meanwhile, Lucas Albert starts on the bench alongside the likes of Harrison Hansen and Leeds bound Justin Sangare.
