Williams eager for home

George Williams has taken to Twitter to express his delight at finally playing at the Halliwell Jones on Bank Holiday Monday.

Since his move to Warrington Wolves was confirmed back in July, speculation had been mounting about when he would make his debut.

The English halfback finally turned out against Leeds in early August – where his drop-goal handed the Wolves a last-minute win – but he has still yet to grace the Halliwell Jones turf.

Finally, however, his time will come when Warrington take on old foes St Helens on Monday night and Williams expressed his delight at that finally being allowed to happen.

Williams began his career at Wigan where he spent six silverware-laden years, before a trip to the NRL with Canberra Raiders see him step up his game even further.

A rather messy end to his time with the Green Machine saw Williams return to Super League earlier than anticipated, with Warrington winning the race for his signature a month ago.
