Wigan Warriors in brilliant move for Bevan French following his personal loss

After the news on Monday that Wigan Warriors had sent their deepest condolences to Bevan French following the passing of his mother, the club has gone an extra step further in showing their love for the fullback

After suffering a season-ending hamstring injury last year, French returned home to Australia in June to undergo his rehabilitation whilst looking after his mum, who was battling a long illness.

French has spent an extended period of time at home and in a heartfelt tribute on Monday, he posted the following on his Instagram page:

“For forever and more. Words can’t describe the gratitude I have for your sacrifice. Love you Ma. Until we meet again. R.I.P.”

That prompted a classy and emotional response from Wigan Executive Director, Kris Radlinski, who said: “Some things in life are bigger than rugby. All our thoughts and prayers are with Bevan and his family at this time. His Wigan family will be waiting with open arms for his return, to care and protect him.”

And, now the club has come together in one of the most awe-inspiring photos of 2022 so far.

All of the players are sat in the stands with the camera firmly focused on the group, with a huge Australian Aboriginal flag adorned in the centre surrounded by welcoming hands with the famous Cherry and White pattern in the background.

It really is something incredible to behold and a surefire way of letting Bevan French know that his club are thinking of him.
