Jai Field is one of nine players to be released by the Parramatta Eels following their exit from the NRL Finals.
The 23-year-old speedster has been linked with Wigan Warriors after failing to nail down a first-team spot in the NRL.
Field joined the Eels in May after a move to Leeds Rhinos broke down prior to the 2020 season.
He has played six NRL games this campaign, scoring three tries from his natural position in the halves.
It was previously reported by Wigan Today that Field has qualified for a work visa ahead of his move to the Warriors, with head coach Adrian Lam describing him as a ‘perfect fit’.
Field has shown flashes of brilliance in the NRL since making his debut for St George Illawarra in 2017.
He played 11 games for the Dragons before joining the Eels who have decided against prolonging his stay at the club.
The other eight players departing Parramatta this off-season are Andrew Davey (Manly Sea Eagles), Kane Evans (New Zealand Warriors), Stefano Utoikamanu (Wests Tigers), David Gower, Peni Terepo, Rhys Davies, Jaeman Salmon and Brad Takairangi (all released).
