Warrington Wolves star breaks silence on what is going wrong at the club

Warrington Wolves have been struggling for form lately losing to Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Hull FC and Castleford Tigers lately.

They were dumped out of the Challenge Cup by a 12 man Wigan Warriors side and their form has been indifferent since their eight game winning run came to a halt earlier this year.

Back then they looked like Grand Finalists, now their play-off spot is in peril and there were even rumours this week that Daryl Powell had been sacked but those appear to be unfounded.

Now star man Stefan Ratchford has broken the silence around what is going wrong for the club.

“Some of the loses we suffered before that (the last two matches), our performances were really poor,” he said on the Super League Show on BBC.

“I think the Leeds game, for example the first half, we were way off what we expect of ourselves; but the Saints game and the Wigan game, the performances have been much more like ourselves and unfortunately we came up a bit short in.

“That Saints game which was probably our best performance for a long time and then a really good first half against Wigan but unfortunately fell away in the second half.”

Ratchford also had his say on confidence and whether the club lacked it: “I think it’s something we need to stop bringing up and the only way we can do that is by performing well and picking up wins.

“Once you get a win, your confidence is automatically on a high. As disappointing as the last couple of weeks have been our performances have been much better.

“So, in a way we do have to take confidence out of that as well and as I say we hopefully go on a run and put some wins together like we did at the start of the season.”
