Warrington Wolves make big decision on George Williams

Warrington Wolves star George Williams

The head coaches of Hull KR and Warrington Wolves have named their 21-man squads ahead of their Round Four Super League clash on Thursday night.

Warrington Wolves star man George Williams, who has missed games against Hull FC and Castleford Tigers due to an ankle injury, returns to the squad, in what will be a major boost for the side.

Josh Drinkwater misses out through injury but Connor Wrench is named, despite being a pre-game doubt.

Jordy Crowther returns to the side in Drinkwater’s place.

The Wire will also once again be without Rodrick Tai (knee) and Matty Nicholson (groin), with them both expected to remain out of action for another few weeks.

Luke Thomas, after rupturing his ACL in pre-season, will likely not return to the field in 2024.

With the return of George Williams, Leon Hayes will likely return to the bench, despite his side racking up an impressive 30 points in Round Three.

Hull KR, looking to return to winning ways after a defeat to Salford, don’t have any injury concerns heading into the fixture.

They, therefore, have been able to name an unchanged 21-man squad, who will be eager to shake off the cobwebs from last week.

They will be spear-headed once again by the likes of fullback Peta Hiku, facing his former side, and Mikey Lewis, who introduced himself to the wider rugby world with an excellent breakout performance in the 2021 playoffs against Thursday’s opponents.

Both sides are looking to claim a third win of the season. Warrington come into the game after back-to-back wins whilst the Robins were shocked last week by Salford Red Devils. The game will take place on Sky Sports on Thursday.
