Wakefield Trinity forward James Batchelor reportedly set to sign for Super League side

Wakefield Trinity James Batchelor is reportedly set to sign for another Super League side.

That’s according to Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks who was reporting live on Warrington Wolves’ home game against St Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium last week.

Batchelor’s new side is apparently going to be Hull KR, who will be in the period of rebuilding following the departure of Tony Smith at the end of 2022.

With new head coach Willie Peters coming in on a three-year deal, it’s time for the Robins to go in another direction and Batchelor looks to be the beginning of that.

The Robins have begun a retainment drive with the likes of Sam Wood and Matt Parcell signing deals in recent weeks, though the East Yorkshire side do still a number off contract such as Greg Richards and Brad Takairangi.

Batchelor has played almost 100 games for Trinity since debuting back in 2016 and has played all of his Super League career so far at Belle Vue.

Still only 24, James is the brother of Joe who is currently starring for St Helens.
