The five Super League players available to sign including Leeds Rhinos target

Lee Kershaw playing against Leeds Rhinos for Wakefield Trinity

As the end of 2023 looms, five players who were in Super League squads in 2023 are still free agents going into 2024 including two players who will likely be snapped up by Super League clubs.

With some teams still in the market ahead of the 2024 season, there could be clubs queuing up for these players. Perhaps they could act as a Christmas present to a Super League club and their fan base as 2024 gets closer and closer.

So without further ado, here are the five players available.

Lee Kershaw

The Wakefield Trinity winger appeared on the scene for the first time in 2019 on Easter Monday against Leeds Rhinos having featured against the Rhinos on the previous Boxing Day. It is ironic then that as we approach this year’s Boxing Day he has been linked with and reportedly been training with the Rhinos who have been reportedly interest in the winger. But with no deal coming, he is still available to the rest of Super League.

Luis Johnson

The former Warrington Wolves and Hull KR second-row is another player who has been training with a Super League club but is yet to agree a deal with them. That is the Castleford Tigers. He is likely to join the Tigers at this point but no deal has been agreed as yet.

Daniel Hill

The former Widnes Vikings man has been with St Helens but has not had many opportunities to feature frequently for the club. He has plenty of potential and would make a good signing for any Super League club as well as the top Championship clubs.

Dane Windrow

Another Wakefield player. With less reputation that Lee Kershaw, he may have less suitors but he is another young player with plenty of potential. He could join another Super League club or a high end Championship club to rival Wakefield.

Ilikaya Mafi

A former Hull FC man, he was brought in by Castleford Tigers at the end of last year only be released at the end of this year alongside the likes of Blake Austin. His future is perhaps the most mysterious of the lot.
