St Helens have had an up and down start to the 2023 Super League season but in their last game they looked back to their best against then league leaders Warrington Wolves.
This came as star centre Konrad Hurrell explained that the Saints had changed their training week ahead of the game which brought the best out of the “best spine in the comp.”
He said on Sky Sports:
“I think we changed training week. It was different this week to the last couple of weeks we have had.
“We kind of move the ball more freely in training and we saw that today. We’re used to being a team that takes one hit up, one hit up, one hit up and being a tough team but at training we were like ‘let’s be free.’
“We have the best spine in the comp. Use them and use the outside backs and freely use the ball and not being just one out.
“I think keeping the ball as well and not giving them easy ball so completing tonight is massive for us.”
A big claim from Hurrell with some players in red hot form in Super League at present.
