Super League Injury News: Title challengers suffer massive blow

Super League Round Four started with a brilliant and engaging game at the AJ Bell Stadium as Salford Red Devils hosted Wigan Warriors.

The week before, Salford had stunned St Helens ending their unbeaten run to start the season and the Red Devils were hoping to do the same to the Super League Champions. However, despite taking a 12-10 lead, a Marc Sneyd short drop out would give Wigan an easy opportunity to take the lead and they would go on to win 22-12.

On Friday, the biggest game of the round saw Leeds Rhinos host St Helens. The Rhinos blitzed Saints in the first 30 minutes but only led 8-0 after a Luis Roberts try and goals from Rhyse Martin. By halftime, St Helens only trailed 8-6 and would go on to win 18-8 after back to back tries.

From the biggest game to the biggest scoreline; Hull FC’s woes were extended as they lost 54-4 to Leigh Leopards on Saturday at the same time Hull KR got back to winning ways as they defeated Huddersfield Giants on the back of moving Niall Evalds to fullback and Peta Hiku to centre.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Castleford Tigers battled hard against the Catalans Dragons but came up short in a 40-14 defeat.

Then on Sunday, Warrington Wolves moved top with a thumping win over London Broncos.
