Super League Disciplinary: Five players charged by the RFL

Round Ten of the Super League has concluded, which means teams will be anticipating the Match Review Panel’s verdicts in Super League disciplinary once again.

Round Nine, for the first time, saw no charges whatsoever from Super League fixtures, but this has changed this week.

The round saw some huge results, with Catalans Dragons again losing heavily, this week going down 30-8 away at Wigan Warriors.

Friday night saw comfortable wins for Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves, as they faced the league’s bottom sides, London Broncos and Hull FC respectively.

Elsewhere, Paul Rowley’s Salford Red Devils edged out the in-form Huddersfield Giants 18-16, in a game that saw Giants winger Elliot Wallis sent off for intentional head-on-head contact with Tim Lafai.

Saturday brought surprises, and Paul Wellens is under increasing pressure after losing 40-20 to Hull KR and their exciting brand of rugby.

Morgan Knowles was one of the players that would have been especially worried, after his sin-binning for head contact.

Castleford Tigers left it late but came back from behind to draw 28-apiece with Leigh Leopards, and with no score in golden point extra-time, it was this Super League season’s first draw.

Incredibly, this weekend’s results leave six out of the twelve teams level on points at the top of the table.

No players were handed bans this week, making it two weeks in a row that no new players will be out due to disciplinary measures.

Catalans duo Ben Garcia and Julien Bousquet have received fines for head contact and tripping respectively.

Andy Ackers’ curious ‘other contrary behvaiour’ charge will result in no further action but could cause problems further down the line for any further charges.

Jake Trueman’s Grade B Dangerous Contact charge earned him a £250 fine, as did Peta Hiku for a Grade A Dangerous Contact grade.

You can see the full list of charges below.

Super League Disciplinary: charges in full
