Son of Saints and Bradford great signs professional contract

Leon Pryce retirement

Will Pryce, the son of former Bradford, St Helens, Catalans and Hull utility back Leon, has signed professional terms with Huddersfield Giants.

The youngster will now continue his development as part of the Giants’ Academy after completing two years as part of the U16s Scholarship side.

He received his first international honours in July when he was named in the England Youth squad to play France, scoring a crucial interception try in the game.

He follows in the footsteps of his dad, who earned 24 international caps for both England and Great Britain.

In a post on Instagram, Pryce senior confirmed his son’s new deal, with the caption: “So after a really important year of exams it’s so pleasing to finish it off with my boy signing his first professional contract for Huddersfield Giants.

“As a father it’s been a really enjoyable journey to this point and nothing gives me more pride and joy than watching you do what you love.

“Head down arse up time now!!!”
