Smithies facing tribunal

Wigan Warriors forward Morgan Smithies will face a tribunal after being charged with Grade D Dangerous Contact.

He was sin binned for the incident, which saw Castleford Tigers winger James Clare stretchered off with a neck injury.

Smithies has also been handed a two-match penalty notice for headbutting. He will appear before the tribunal tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Giants Suaia Matagi has been given a two-match penalty notice after being charged with Dangerous Contact on Joe Cator.

Matagi was also cautioned for a separate tackle on Cator.

Cator has also been given a one-match penalty notice for Dangerous Contact on Sam Hewitt.

Meanwhile, Jackson Hastings, Joe Bullock and Adam Cuthbertson were all charged by the panel but will not face bans.

Finally, Aaron Smith, Jack Brown and Ben Currie have all been given cautions.
