Sky Sports presenter suggests St Helens could make shock move for Kruise Leeming

It’s no secret this past week that Kruise Leeming wants out of Headingley but as yet nothing has been confirmed for the hookers next destination.

The shock news was initially broken by Leeds Live and has since been confirmed by Rohan Smith with the Rhinos openly admitting that Leeming is seeking an exit.

Leeming skippered the side in 2022 and led them to a Grand Final however Smith opted not to name a captain for the 2022 season.

The speculation has grown as to where Leeming will head next with the NRL looking a likely destination, and the potential for a bidding war becoming a reality.

Gold Coast Titans are seemingly the frontrunner, something that Jenna Brooks of Sky Sports confirmed on air tonight ahead of the Huddersfield Giants and St Helens clash.

Despite Brooks’ confirmation she also suggested that one specific and shocking Super League side could swoop in for Leeming.

“Onto Kruise Leeming who looks set to join the Gold Coast Titans, for at least the rest of this season anyway. Rohan Smith has made it clear that the Rhinos won’t rush into finding a replacement for the hooker.

“This has got me thinking though, perhaps St Helens might take a look at Leeming given that their star hooker James Roby is set to retire at the end of this year and no doubt time will tell.”

Could Saints really make the huge swoop, and if they were interested would the Rhinos be prepared to allow Leeming to join a rival Super League side?
