Second Warrington Wolves starlet leaves on loan following in his father’s footsteps as he does

Today there’s been plenty of headlines and player movement.

It started with Regan Grace confirmed departure to rugby union and peaked with Tom Johnstone’s move to Catalans confirmed alongside Hull FC’s triple loan swoop for Jack Walker, Josh Simm and Warrington starlet Ellis Longstaff.

Bill Tupou has also announced his immediate retirement from the game whilst Josh Bowden appears headed to Wakefield according to Yorkshire Live whilst Leeds Rhinos are reportedly on the look out for a new signing following Walker’s Hull FC departure.

However, the movement doesn’t stop there with a second Warrington youngster leaving the club on loan today.

Jacob Gannon – older brother to Leeds star Morgan Gannon – has joined Rochdale Hornets on loan on an initial two-week deal.

Remarkably, Hornets’ coach Matt Calland coached Gannon’s father Jim at Halifax back in the day and is excited by the signing saying on the club’s website: “I’m delighted that we’ve brought in another young, enthusiastic, player to freshen up the squad.

“Jacob is an exciting talent having played for England academy, and now for Warrington’s reserves.

Obviously, he comes from a really good pedigree as well – with his father being Jim Gannon.”
