Warrington Wolves are set to take on Hull KR in Round Three of the Betfred Super League and have been handed a massive boost with the return of George Williams.

However, their team news is a double edge sword ahead of what should be an intriguing Super League clash.

The half-back has missed Warrington’s last two matches with an ankle injury and replaces the injured Josh Drinkwater in the squad.

Jordy Crowther is also available again after sitting out the last two rounds. Connor Wrench is also included having missed last week’s win over Castleford with a slight niggle. Joe Philbin is due to make his 200th club appearance for the Wire.

Meanwhile, Willie Peters has named an unchanged 21-man squad ahead of Thursday’s match in Round Three of Super League. The Robins will be looking to get back to winning ways after the 17-10 defeat at Salford.

Super League club “desperate”

Warrington Wolves are looking to get back to the heady heights they have been at in the recent Super League history.

This comes as the Wolves have a new boss and have shown some encouraging signs in their last two games.

Now Sam Tomkins has had his say on the Wolves on Sky Sports describing them as desperate and saying that they will want to avoid a 50% winning record and if they lose to Hull KR, they will drop back down to 50%.

Tomkins said: “Yeah, I think they are. You know, Warrington will be desperate, you know, they’ve implemented a lot of changes in the off-season in the way that they play. A 50% win rate’s not gonna get them anywhere this year.”
