It could be a double whammy for Salford Red Devils in 2022 if Sky Sports pundits are to be believed.
Pundits were live at the AJ Bell Stadium for Salford’s clash against Castleford Tigers in what proved to be an entertaining affair on Friday night.
However, there was potentially some bad news for Salford supporters with Harvey Livett reported to be leaving the club at the end of the season, according to those in the Sky Sports studio.
Coupled with the news that King Vuniyayawa could be out for the season with injury and it could be two pieces of bad news awaiting the Lancashire side.
Livett joined Salford from the Warrington Wolves on a permanent deal ahead of the 2021 season after spending 2020 on loan at Hull KR and has become one of their most consistent performers.
However, 2022 has been plagued by injury sustained towards the back end of last season whilst King Vuniyayawa has impressed greatly since his move from Leeds Rhinos.
Vuniyayawa’s absence didn’t hinder Salford too much on Friday night as the Red Devils put Castleford Tigers to the sword in emphatic fashion with a 30-14 win.
The Red Devils have been doing it tough in recent weeks with the squad decimated by flu and injury, but Paul Rowley has sure got his men firing in 2022.
