Robson makes Ottawa u-turn

Warrington Wolves forward Ellis Robson has signed a new two-year deal to remain at the club.

Robson was due to sign for Ottawa Aces in 2021, but will now stay with the club after making his debut earlier this year against Hull FC.

He told the club website:“Warrington are one of the top teams in Super League so to sign a new two-year deal is a really special opportunity and one I couldn’t turn down.

“It shows that there is a pathway for the younger lads coming through and hopefully I can kick on now.

“I’m still excited for Ottawa and the journey they’re going to be on. I’d like to thank them for the opportunity and I wish them all the best for the 2021 season. When I’m not playing for Warrington I’ll be an Ottawa fan.”

Wire Head Coach Steve Price added:”Myself and our playing group are all delighted that Ellis will be staying with us.

“He’s a popular member of the squad and has demonstrated high standards since making his debut for the first team this season. He’s also a great role model for young players in our Academy system who are looking to follow in his footsteps.

“We’re sure that there is still a lot of improvement in Ellis and his dedication in the gym and on the training field suggests that he has what it takes to reach his potential.”
