Robinson: Execution was key for Roosters

Sydney Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson has praised his side’s execution following their World Club Challenge win.

Roosters won 20-12 thanks to two tries from Joseph Manu, and other efforts from Luke Keary and Daniel Tupou.

He said: “I think we missed one execution, I think we had one on the right hand side, where we should have scored. We found a really good overlap early in the game, but couldn’t take it. Other than that, we took all of our opportunities.

“Saints had two that went over the sidelines and hit the deck, and then there was one for Tommy (Makinson) that was low. It was execution in the end.

“They are both two tough teams, both playing really physical styles, some really good ball movement as well.

“We nailed the opportunities we had. We missed one and Saints missed three. I think that was the crux of it.”
