Rhinos forward sustains training injury

Leeds Rhinos forward Cameron Smith has suffered a fractured jaw in training.

Smith suffered the injury in training on Friday, and will require surgery to correct it.

The loose forward had been an important part for the Rhinos so far in 2020, and played in every match so far, scoring three tries.

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Richard Agar commented, “This is disappointing news for Cameron as he has been a key member of our squad this season.

“It was an accidental clash in training on Friday and our medical team immediately made sure he was scanned and he has had an operation this afternoon.

“He is in the good hands and hopefully he’ll be back on the field as soon as possible.”
