Price credits character after gritty win

Warrington Wolves Head Coach Steve Price has praised the character his side shown in their 19-12 victory over Huddersfield Giants.

Wire had to work hard for their win, with the points not secured until argubly Gareth Widdop’s drop goal in the closing stages.

Price hopes the win will give Wire a boost with the playoffs looming.

He said: “It just shows the character of the group, they were up for the fight. Credit to Huddersfield, they came ready for a fight, and we had to work really hard.

“I thought we were solid in the first 20 minutes. Minus the first two sets when we turned the ball over. Some errors started creeping in later on, and we had to work hard. It was gritty.

“You hope to enter the semis with a bit of form, and I think that will go a good way to doing that.”
